What about us WFMI stockholders?
I agree with your perspective to protect suppliers from a Whole Foods Market monopsony, but I was hoping to recover a stock loss and expecting the buyout of Wild Oats to at least bring Whole Foods back up to what I paid for it so I could get out with a break even or stay as a wise investment. I can't help imagine that I'm not alone in my conflict. Besides, I don't even get to shop at a Whole Foods, Wild Oats or Trader Joe's because I live in the capital city of Oregon where the natural food supermarket revolution hasn't happened. I bought WFMI as an investment because I believe in what I thought was their mission to bring natural foods supermarkets to every state in union at a fair price to both consumers and suppliers. I'm still waiting for a local natural foods supermarket of national recognition. But not unaware of my local Saturday market, my own garden, and sustainable agriculture for local organic meat. Instead of running all over town to get the best organic food, I'd love to a natural food supermarket in Salem, Oregon. On Why the FTC is right to block Whole Foods' buyout of Wild Oats posted 2 years, 4 months ago 28 Responses
