Behind enemy lines
I didn't really mean to be here - I googled "opposed to wind farms", because I am, and your site came up - SO, here I am.
I KNOW I'm on the side that's going to lose this battle - suddenly, there's a discovery that's going to result in "free" electricity - harnessing the wind, and all that. And besides the fact that it's "free" and "clean", corporations are making billions of dollars off of it - so it's like the ball rolling downhill.
I, for one, don't live on that scenic beach on Cape Cod. I just live here in the midwest, where I have to look at these things as I drive around the country. I FIRMLY believe that the TRUE BELIEVERS believe in the CONCEPT, but don't have to look at them every day. Comparing them with powerline poles or cell towers is ludicrous - these windmills can be seen for miles on the prairie.
As I say, I know it's a losing battle - you guys are winning - but for me, the visual pollution is far worse than whatever environmental advantage you might claim. On Umbra on wind farms posted 2 years, 1 month ago 1 Response
