I use a tablespoon of baking soda mixed with a cup of water to wash my hair daily and use diluted apple cider vinegar to condition my hair a few times a week. This actually works better than any shampoo that I have ever used and is cheaper to boot.

One aspect of the transportation discussion that always confuses me is why people want and expect public transportation to be a profitable venture. Do highways turn a profit? They are publicly supported, so we all pay for them through our taxes. However, most highways are not toll roads, so as far as I know, they aren't generating any income. It seems like public transportation is held to a different (and unattainable) standard and the subsidies that it receives are somehow akin to "bailouts". Capitalism isn't the solution to every problem.
I moved to DC partly so that I could get rid of my car and get around via public transportation. The DC system (trains and buses) could of course be improved, but I love not having a car. I hope to never again live in a place where a car is absolutely necessary. Right now, that is only possible in a very few number of American cities. On Public transit ridership is up, but no one's talking about a better system posted 1 year, 5 months ago 9 Responses
Eden Cans BPA-free?
I have read that Eden uses cans that have the least amount of BPA for tomatoes and none at all for their beans. Here is what they have to say:
