Mr. Klaus is also anti-environment in general
In addition he says "Environmentalism should belong in the social sciences" along with other "isms" such as communism, feminism, and liberalism. Klaus said that "environmentalism is a religion" and, in an answer to the questions of the U.S. Congressmen, a "modern counterpart of communism" that seeks to change peoples' habits and economic systems.[28]
If that's the case, perhaps we could add 'capitalism' to his list.
Mr. Klaus is an economist, but not a very good one. If he truly understood the economy, he would know that it operates within society, and that society operates within the world's environment.
So it is environmentalism that trumps economic and capitalism, and not the other way around. On Czech president attacks Al Gore's climate campaign posted 10 months ago 3 Responses

A Sand County Almanac
I would have included A Sand County Almanac and Essays on Conservation by Aldo Leopold.
Far ahead of his time when he wrote it about 1950 I believe. I first read it in 1970 and it made a tremendous difference in my life.
He made the point that no National Park in and of itself was large enough, when most people were thrilled to create small local wayside places.
It's not waste unless we waste it.
