  • 85% Ethanol, Please

    Thank you, Barak and others who inspire US to stop wasting resources:

    Waste of resources has caused the war in Iraq, the criminal invasion of Iraq was based on lies of WMD, of 9/11, of Reaganomic "voodoonomics" (George Bush Senior) that assumes that private profit justifies all and that consumption=economy.

    That is wrong:  Basic economics 101 is the study of balancing supplies and demands, of producing enough to consume and consuming enough to produce in a series of interlinking cycles of life's genetic producers.  We need natural systems to produce enough to consume, to clean the air and water and inventions such as 85% ethanol fuel will help pull us out of this mess in Iraq.

    But GW Bush just doesn't get it.

    President Clinton and Vice President Gore inspired US to innovate and to produce riches of the earth enough to count.  So we prospered and produced the longest period of peace and prosperity in our nation's history (Edwards, 2004).

    We can do that again.

    But it takes brain power and positive will to produce a more positive future, and I don't see that in the White House now.  Perhaps some tutors would help....and fast, please.On Obama and a bipartisan crew of colleagues unveil eco-friendly bills on energy posted 4 years ago 4 Responses

  • Earth Day 2005: Is the Earth Flat?

    Every morning I wake up and the earth looks flat.

    But I know it is not.  How?

    To find out, I need to climb out of the sheltered and protective shell that my comfortable America has woven around me and look around, out past the immediate, obvious me.....out to see the horizon, to find the ocean's curve, to find my imaginagion and the amazing pictures that centuries and centuries of scientific findings have produced.......the pictures of the earth from space, letting me know that it is, indeed round.....I think.

    But from what GW Bush and Bush, Inc. tell me, it is probably flat.

    At least that's what his corporate profiteers want me to believe, the war profiteers, oil barons and no-bid contractors that put GW Bush into the White House in 2000 illegitimately, in 2004 suspiciously......that told me that we needed to invade Iraq because Saddam Hussein was definitely ready to drop an atomic bomb on me....when his WMD capacities had actually been destroyed in 1991 (Duelfer, 2004), and GW knew that because his own dad bombed Iraq then.........and the same GW that is filling scientific commissions with corporate hacks that don't really care much except the number of dollars in their own private bank account.

    The prestigious Union of Concerned Scientists wrote two letters to GW Bush in 2004 demanding that GW Bush stop abusing science for political gain..............(UCS, 2004)

    ..........and profiteering.

    Does private profit justify all?  

    No.

    Does America know that?

    Yes.

    Then what happened in November, 2004?

    Let's set the record straight and demand voting machines with paper trails, please..........for a more scientific election.........to protect our scientists that we need to know that our earth really is round.
