Youth grassroots organizing is not only hip here in New Hampshire, but its chronically UNHIP to be doing anything else. Based in Concord, college and high school students from all around the northeast have come together to run the ReEnergize New Hampshire campaign. The main event of the summer will be The March to ReEnergize NH, a 5 day march from Nashua to Concord calling for real global warming solutions, and boldly demonstrating to our leaders that global warming is an issue youth and New Hampshire citizens care about, and insist to see action on.
This last weekend, two other passionate young people and myself (an 18 year old college student) organized a last minute Live Earth party with just 2 days notice. By the time artists started taking the stage, over 30 young people and 10 not-so-young people had shown up to watch the concert, discuss the climate crisis and how we're going to stop it.
With the help of Kanye West, Smashing Pumpkins and The Police, we charged a number of people and got them excited about working for real global solutions and volunteering with us.

The SSC
Well, we can sit here and talk about the leaders of the organization, or we can talk about the amazing organizing SSCers are doing around the nation:
- Over 300 SSC groups running the Campus Climate Challenge.
- We're running the 8 of the best youth empowering, revolution building, grassroots organizing trainings in the nation. (www.ssc.org/sprog)
So, when you think of the SSC, don't think about Jared, Erica, Kat or myself. Think about what the SSC and all of us students are doing in this movement. On Students keep up momentum with a pre-election Climate Summer posted 2 years, 5 months ago 5 Responses
