Suspension a good decision
The suspension is for the betterment of the Florida Chapter. It was an awful situation, and national deserves much credit for stepping in, knowing these people would go after them with anything they could use, like the ridiculous Clorox issue--as if working with a company to clean up its act is something wrong. But to the ones who were in chapter leadership, everything was either good or bad, black or white--no shades of gray. You could never disagree with them. If you ever did, you got on the enemies list, got shut out of leadership, and villified. It was a very repressive atmosphere, and I'm glad it's gone.On Ouster of Sierra Club's Florida leaders stirs up a storm of controversy posted 1 year, 6 months ago 7 Responses
LCV
No LCV state affiliates? That's funny. I just checked at: www.lcv.org. A section on the page, "Find Your State League", has links to every state's LCV affiliate--except for Florida. That link comes up blank. On Sierra Club removes leadership of its Florida chapter posted 1 year, 7 months ago 42 Responses
It could happen
No joke. I just read a piece in a major news magazine about how that could happen, given a split convention, and Hillary and Obama basically killing each other off. It would be an act of desperation, though. On Gore will run for president as independent, sources tell Grist posted 1 year, 7 months ago 34 Responses
