  • Sweetwater Creek State Park

Although this building may have been "only a gleam" in someone's eye when I visited this park in 2001, I heartily endorse both state and national parks in their efforts to build with renewable and regenerating methods.

Gettysburg's new Visitor Center boasts of some ecologically advanced features, I understand.

Chicago has a number of architects forging ahead, who want to go beyond energy efficient to ones that are regenerative of the land on which they are built, for example. Scroll down to see a number of lunchtime lectures, plus other talks sponsored by the Chicago Architecture Foundation:

  • I'm all for foreign-level petrol (gasoline) costs

Let's have it. Good for all makers, not just Ford. Dingell proposed 50 cents per gallon, right? And Bush says no to anything.

Gradual increases? Another 10 cents per gallon with each year? Sounds like a nightmare to enact and collect, but it might work.On The CEO of Ford Motor Co. ... posted 2 years, 3 months ago 6 Responses

  • Iowa, Colorado research yields added biofuel uses

This morning's NYT covers the lab work yielding lignins and glycerin as high-quality by-products of burning biofuels. Some funding is from venture capitalists, other labs are associated with universities and some are spin-offs. They all seem to love the challenges to improve biofuel technology and production.

Success stories like this make me shout with joy that there will be a green revolution one day. Heck, let the Chinese know there's a new way to make glycerin and leave the anti-freeze to their auto industry. On Here comes the science! posted 2 years, 3 months ago 17 Responses
