  • Migration - the real problem

The real problem is how many people are STILL moving to the West.  The desert is the fastest growing part of the country (and world for that matter - see Dubai).  How many people can a desert really support? On Science says we are turning the West into a desert posted 1 year, 9 months ago 13 Responses

  • We just need to keep moving forward

While I believe that global warming is happening, arguing about it endlessly is a waste of time.  It's happening and there will ALWAYS be people who doubt.  The most important thing is to teach correct principles for why sustainable living is critical today.  Global warming is one of them, but using fear, as a motivator for change is an ineffective one.  I wrote a post about this last week.  Stewardship and our connectedness with the earth are the best motivators for sustainability and a bright future. On Do Big Oil and Big Tobacco share a similar smokescreen? posted 1 year, 9 months ago 26 Responses

  • States in south especially don't need DST

I also doubt a study would prompt any change, and it is nice to have the extra light, especially the further north you get.  But isn't it still up to each individual state?  I believe Hawaii and Arizona are the only states that don't use DST.  With all of the growth (and sun) in the southeast and southwest, it makes sense for those states to get rid of DST to save money and energy, but states up north to keep it since the day is so noticeably shorter. On Daylight saving time wastes energy, study says posted 1 year, 9 months ago 2 Responses
