Grist is pathetic
What is really quite pathetic is that Grist writers and editors are so extremely busy asserting their views on everything and anything and caressing their literary egos that they can't even be bothered to answer an email from someone who is actually wanting TO DO SOMETHING about a problem and make a change and difference. You're obviously so busy trying to impress readers with your knowledge and frequently non-brilliant wit that you've actually forgotten that it's not just about getting your opinions out there - it's about making a positive difference with them - because otherwise it's just blah, blah, blah...and since blah, blah, blahing is apparently more important to you than it is to me - I look forward to spending my time on something a little more constructive - like unsubscribing from your self-serving blah, blah, blahing website and answering important eco-questions myself. Thanks for not answering my question Dave and Umbra - at least now I know where not to look for advise. On America's most loathsome posted 3 years, 10 months ago 13 Responses
Earth to America
I had a feeling it wouldn't be as good as I had hoped - and I was not disappointed. They could have comedically offered a lot more in the "environmentally sound solution and alternative to everyday problems" department so that viewers just didn't enjoy the humour for a fleeting moment, but could have applied it to everyday life when they left the show. Also, for a while there I thought I was watching the Democratic Party Convention. The humour veered away from environmental issues to social security and precription drugs for the elderly. Terrible. They really succeeded last night in living up to the stereotype "liberal Hollywood" despite filming in that dispicably environmentally sad city. Too bad they couldn't leave the bad politicing and mudslinging in CA and focus more on getting the real message across - that we ALL need to do more to save this planet and do it with a smile. Energy shift - ANWR
Speaking of energy shift - I'm trying to find out what companies are lined up to drill in ANWR so I can boycott. Yes, I know, using the term "energy shift" here loosely...anyway, anyone know? Dave? Amazing? Anyone, anyone, anyone at all?On Global warming probably won't do the job. posted 4 years, 6 months ago 6 Responses
Summer sun showers
For a quick water-conservation move this summer for those without edible gardens and those with a garden hose and a penchant for bathing outdoors: lay out the hose so it warms the water and then enjoy a short warm shower followed by a cool spritz-off in the yard. Choosing an eco-friendly (and preferably non-animal-tested) shampoo/soap will do little to no harm to grass and shrubs and may thrill your neighbours too!On Umbra on channeling gray water to the garden posted 4 years, 7 months ago 8 Responses
