- GNOVAK, Hilarious.... You cite a petition about climate change signed by scientists with unknown expertise based on an article published in a "medical" journal (that in the Fall 2009 issue did not contain a single original medical research article) published by a VERY right-wing group of physicians. And yet you discount the IPCC work. Oh...and the link you gave is wrong. The petition you cite is found at http://www.petitionproject.org/review_article.phpOn Ask Umbra on combating climate denial posted 2 months, 1 week ago 55 Responses
College enrollment of students of color grows at a rate twice as fast as enrollment of students in agricultural and natural resources programs. That trend has been consistent for the past three decades. With students of color the most rapidly growing demographic, and natural resource programs doing a poor job attracting such students, it makes economic sense for the colleges to develop other programs.

The U.S. government has approximately 1.4 million military and two million civilian (i.e., non-military) employees. The U.S. EPA is teeny compared to the rest of the U.S. government. On EPA unions withdraw from cooperation agreement posted 1 year, 9 months ago 6 Responses
Unions for 10,000 EPA staff speak out...
And yet just six days ago the EPA Administrator testified before Congress that the denial of the California waiver application did not hurt staff morale. Was he unaware that the unions representing 10,000 EPA staff were about to disabuse him of that notion?

Right on...but, just like an alcoholic in denial, we are still having difficulty acknowledging the problem. Just two days ago draft language about the health impacts of climate change upon children (and other populations) was cut from testimony to the U.S. Senate given by the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Global Warming Environmental Justice Advisory Committee is meeting next week to discuss impacts in California in response to passage of AB32 noted by Danielle. Some of the issues being addressed are identified in the Redefining Progress report. http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/ejac/ejac.htm

(http://www.cbcfinc.org/pdf/Climate_Change.pdf#search=%27u ...)While the draft federal "Analyses of the effects of global change on human health and welfare and human systems" recognizes domestic impacts on the poor, neither it nor the associated federal advisory committee are evaluating disparate domestic harms based on race.
