  • Yay WRTC!

I think it is wonderful what organizations such as WRTC are doing. The best way to transition our country to become a greener one, we must learn compromise and consider those of who would otherwise be left out in the cold. By incorporating the foresters's and loggers's skills, the town was able give these people jobs while supporting the tree population. Biodiesel still requires low amounts oil, only some people from the oil companies would need to be redirected to other jobs. The problem, there in, is how to incorporate the skills they have with a new career.

As for wildfires in themselves, with over population comes expansion. As long as we're making more babies than we have land, we'll continue infringing on the natural order of things. On Could a Western wildfire be the country's next Katrina? posted 3 years, 8 months ago 3 Responses

  • Government and green tech

Governments can become involved in the force to create cleaner technology, the fact of the matter is they don't know when to leave it to those who are paid to do it. We have the technology to create hydrogen cars but we don't see them being mass produced for the average American's salary because we'd be putting politicians's buddies out of the job with oil companies. To state it simply, we need to government's blessing and funding, but then we just need to be left to our own devices to fix things. On What green looks like to the world's emerging economies posted 3 years, 8 months ago 8 Responses

  • Waste in America

In today's superficial, materialistic society we must take a look at ourselves and see what kind of impact we're leaving on the world, and if we're happy with that. The waste a single American family produces is simply outrageous. We've been taught to see all of our resources as expendable, a perfect example of this ignorance is any copy room in the U.S. Papers are tossed in the trash instead of taking the five extra steps to the recycling bin and ink cartridges are tossed in the trash with not consideration. While dumpster diving, one will find perfectly good (and delicious) food discarded because one item was damaged or the order was wrong. I've also seen numerous amounts of sewing patterns thrown away because they were discontinued and the company didn't want those patterns available to the public. In a couple years those patterns will be re-released for a limited time to make a bigger profit. It's ludicrous. We need to become responsible for our actions and begin righting the things we have wronged. On Wealthy strive for posted 3 years, 8 months ago 18 Responses
