i've heard
i've never lived there but was recently discussing this with people who do. i heard that chicago likes to promote itself as being really green (and many aspects of city life there are green) but that they barely even have a basic recycling program in place. schooling
this reminds me of my TA years, where students caught cheating would plead ignorance - "what do you mean i need to provide references?"On Romance novelist accused of plagiarizing green group's magazine posted 1 year, 10 months ago 4 Responses
include us!
i thought this was a bi-national blog (at least) - so where's all the Canada news? it can't be all America! America! i'm sure there were some newsworthy-eco-happenings north of the 49th parallel. On The top green stories of 2007 posted 1 year, 11 months ago 14 Responses

I naturally select to stop reading her articles
You're right, this lady has no idea about biology: evolution, mutations and adaptation. It seems like she thinks that animals (mammals specifically) can CHOOSE to evolve, grow fins, become a sea or land creature, etc., in one lifetime. She has confused the concepts of instinct and choice versus natural selection, as if 'fight vs. flight' were some sort of moral choice. On So says a dumb article posted 3 years ago 4 Responses
climate change is more than global warming
I think this is a perfect example of why we need to frame this debate topic as 'climate change' not 'global warming' since there are different changes happening on the globe that affect regional climates, which can't necessarily be reflected in a global average temperature change. On 'Global warming stopped in 1998'--Only if you flagrantly cherry pick posted 3 years ago 170 Responses
not just flags & quilts
you can also get your old shirts recycled into new clothes, see: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2005/06/tshirt_underwea.php
and i'm sure there are many other creative ways to re-use fabric, like cutting it up and donating it to community centres, or schools for kids crafts.
