somebody needs to explain to me
why CO2 is an important greenhouse gas. The way it was explained to me in my college days was that it diffuses easily in the atmosphere and doesn't absorb enough radiation to make a real difference in it's surrounding environment.
Can somebody point me to the chemistry surrounding this matter? I'd greatly appreciate an unbiased opinion.
what I need to know before jumping on the CO2 bandwagon:
- HOW MUCH energy is absorbed by CO2
- HOW MUCH is converted into radiated heat
- HOW MUCH that affects the surrounding environment
- HOW MUCH energy is absorbed by CO2
I filled up yesterday
for the first time in about a month. Gas was $4.27/gal.
$4.05 is a joke where I live. Where in the country is it lower?
Glad I've cut my gas bill in half!, I'm going to have to keep cutting usage at this rate to stay in the black.. .. .. zipcar/flexcar, here I come!

Good to see you on the Grist!
Didn't know you frequented too.
Good luck with your bill- hope it gets passed.
Perhaps states should focus on climate change legislation within their own districts and states? I mean, everybody seems to agree that pollution is bad, but nobody really seems to come up with a "one-size fits all" solution. Maybe one isn't viable right now. You know-- start from the bottom and work your way up through each level government?

Perhaps it's to pick a side
and act. we can either work for slow change or demand it at economy-crushing picket-point. I'm not one for protests, but done the right way, they can really alter the playing field. On Senators ignore the warning signs posted 1 year, 5 months ago 3 Responses

I was thinking this exact thought today! A luxury cruise costs about $600- I was wondering what it would cost to cross the Atlantic? Would it be the same?On A techno blog for the doubters posted 1 year, 5 months ago 5 Responses

frugalbabe had a nice post
this site here has a nice article on how to landscape your garden so that it has minimal/no maintenance.
I used to own a manual and yes, if you don't take care of it, it won't work. Much like anything else, but the difference is that it has a kind of Americana feel to it. Once you learn how.On My yard, a source of shame posted 1 year, 6 months ago 18 Responses
