Seeing them more
I've been seeing more scooters here in Colorado, too. We don't have one, but my husband tries to offset our driving by biking 30 miles across Denver to work. The rest of the time we hypermile, which is helping our bottom line, too!

Capitalism is no more destructive than a gun - it's the person utilizing the tool that is destructive or constructive. The economy is full of people who are becoming more aware and concerned about climate change, and when we reach the tipping point, capitalism will become a potent tool for change. It's people - not theories or inanimate objects - that can hurt or help.

No, really? :=)
Seems like a no-brainer, doesn't it? Next they should measure the increased nutrient levels flowing through the bloodstreams of those organic-eating kiddos!

I love the title: a green wave lifts all boats! And it's probably time to look at more free-market solutions to poverty and environmental protection. I have a free download of a book on sustainable living at Mommy-Conomics, and it will be available soon at Cleaning-Green.Net. It looks at overconsumption, how we got here, and what we can do to turn the tide. Job creation and productivity are key to a green economy's survival, and consumption levels need to be curbed. But, as always, it comes down to personal choice and education. -StephOn Van Jones looks to sustainability for pathways out of poverty posted 2 years ago 5 Responses
Day 3
For Day 3, I would also add putting vinegar in your rinse dispenser. It does 3 things: 1-it replaces chemical rinse agents, 2-it removes odor from fabric, and 3-it actually helps keep your washing machine clean, meaning it will run more efficiently and last longer! -Stephanie at cleaning-green.netOn Easy ways to cut your energy use, one day at a time posted 2 years ago 11 Responses
Fatty acids... ew?
Wondering why so negative on fatty acids? These are the things - like the omega 3s in flax, etc. - that lots of us are deficient in. Why the "ew"???

One overlooked aspect of cleaning green is holding onto your cleaning tools longer - you can actually clean your toilet bowl brush, for example, by filling its container with water and dropping in one or two denture tablets. This will let you produce less "cleaning tool waste"! My website, Cleaning-Green.Net has more tips like that, too! Great article - thanks.
