What kind of soup?
I click over from the daily digest to get a vegetable soup recipe, and I see ox tails and bacon drippings? No thanks. On Take the chill off the bad economy with a frugal, delicious vegetable soup posted 10 months ago 14 Responses
exactly
It's an undersized, overpriced Hyundai. 40 mpg? Big deal. A Civic will get that if you don't leadfoot. On Eensy-weensy Smart car getting a big embrace from U.S. drivers posted 1 year, 1 month ago 9 Responses
crazy!
Are these people crazy? $35000, $60000-- When they sell one for $12000, I'll look at it. On Tesla Motors to build electric-car plant in San Jose, Calif. posted 1 year, 2 months ago 4 Responses
heat
I read about a new-ish treatment where they seal a room and heat it to 130 degrees, which kills them. I guess it works if they have nowhere to hide, probably good for a vacant motel room.On Umbra on bedbugs posted 1 year, 2 months ago 5 Responses
bikes
There are so many unwanted bikes out there that used bikes have very little value in the US. If you can't score an almost-like-new bike to meet your needs at a garage sale for about $20, then I guess you need a bike to get to the sales... or try Craigslist or Freecycle (no pun inten...!).On Umbra on the impacts of biking posted 1 year, 6 months ago 21 Responses

harsh
Being an old hippie/punk rocker/whatever, I've used the soap. It's very harsh, it dries out your skin. I didn't notice so much when I was younger, but somewhere in my 30's it became apparent.
The label used to say that you could use it as a contraceptive. Never tried that.On A documentary about a crazed man and his love of soap and humankind posted 2 years, 4 months ago 8 Responses
