altrrnative energy
I really like Arnold..............and There should be no shame in taxing big oil. They have been sucking us dry....
Unfortunately.......
they will pass this on to us.
All I can say beyond that is Good Luck to California.....It would have been better to vote money in to help with alternative energy.
The wind mills near Mojave and the solar energy mirrors at Hwys 58 and 395 in the desert are a start.
Hopefully our country is on an up swing. and we can really find new ways to keep our energy up cleanly and good jobs making it happen. Not corn but the Hydrogen car has merit (right on Arnold)On Governator proposes tax on California oil drilling posted 1 year ago 2 Responses
packageing
I cannot agree more. Packageing is simply rediculous. Individually wrapped prunes being one example of much less packaging............However............On Easy ways to cut your energy use, one day at a time posted 2 years ago 11 Responses
prison labor
Big business is so corrupt and greedy and often without conscience that I would shudder at the thought of them conning our court system into frivilous convictions.
BUT...............
doing very bad things shouild not be rewarded. A MANDATORY hard days work would not make prison such a cake walk and a burden on society.
To take care of only one prisoner takes more cash than many whole families have to live on for a year with two people working. Do you think that everyone works because they WANT to? Think hard....they do it to earn their keep. They do it because they have to. Prisoners are certainly no better than the rest of us.
Prisoners want to build muscles? Work them doing something productive. If a person is tired from a good days work.........their minds have less energy to plot the awful things that happen in prisons. A tired body will need to take the evenings to rest and not be plotting drug deals and sexual battery . Think about it.........

Oh PLEEZE........why are there separate catagories for the vehicles ????? Whatever "THE REASON" it cannot be good enough.
We are Americans........We are smart .......We are inventive..........Lets demand that these problems be solved........for all these vehicles, utilities etc. Go solar. Go wind. Whatever it takes.
Call for all large industries, corporations, etc to take heed and make them pay with their profits if they do not comply with what has to be done. Don' let them simply pass the cost on to the consumer. It is oh so much fun and so easy to sit on your laurels and collect profits beyond belief and "fiddle while Rome burns".

California emissions
I am so happy to see that California is standing up and taking the national lead in the clean air/ greenhouse gas battle. Praises to Governor Swarzenegger for stepping across party lines and moving toward a hopefully 'clean enough to survive', Earth.
The real terrorists in our future are the companies and countries who are too greedy and too blind and stupid to realize that profits are nothing to a dead or dying civilization.
I read several comments from the Sacramento Bee that were negative or at least cynical........well, if we simply 'nay say' and put down each idea as political or about money then we are joining those who we need to move over and let ideas that are new or not so new be tried. And for those who laugh at California, don't laugh, The most caring and smart and visionary people that I have ever seen in a very long life are Californians.
Humans are stewards of this planet........we need to chip away at many of the old greedy ways and consider our options......there are none........let us care for our home for those who are young and living today and for future generations.
Thank you California !!! and God Bless us all.On California passes Global Warming Solutions Act posted 3 years, 2 months ago 4 ResponsesArnie and global warming
Don't be taken in by sour grapes .
We need people who will stand up and take up the reins of leadership in this most important battle of humanity.
Yay for Arnold for standing up .
This is not about politics, religion, tenure, or any other thing that is totally trivial in the Big Picture.
Humanity has dominion over the earth.........If we are too stupid to take care of it...........it will be gone and so will our children or other decendendants down the line.
Our country, if it got it together, could become the 'good guys' again. The People that we used to think we were and lead and/or simply participate wholely in the saving of our home.........planet earth. Our pride, health and economy could certainly benefit from this approach.
Many are doubtful, many are greedy, many are lazy..........well give it up !!!

In the area where I live, most of the people are not well off and Walmart is the only market worth going to within a very large area.
If Walmart or any business can help to bring affordable organic foods to the public in the quanities needed to make a realistic difference.........good.
The idea of small growers on their little farms making an organic revolution happen is idealistic.
The needs of the planet and the people should be addressed more aggressively ,before it is to late.
The time to stop the poisoning of our earth and water should be now. Run off of farms using chemicals without restraint is everywhere. Even stopping now it will probably be centuries before it could all be cleared.........
