Mr Mc Cain is trying to wear two hats
That's a bit of a laugh that climate is 'central' to Mc Cain's campaign. You just propose to do something that is actively going to encourage climate change, and then claim that you are so concerned about the environment? Subsidize EVs instead
Instead of giving this tax holiday, which will only encourage people to drive gas guzzlers, the government should take a leaf out of the books of other governments such as India and Spain who are planning to subsidize purchase of Electric vehicles. On We need to be freed from gas, not the gas tax posted 1 year, 7 months ago 9 Responses
Very good post
And i totally agree with you when you say "so there are good reasons to support policies encouraging fuel efficiency and plug-in technologies. ". This is the reason that i think that more companies should be trying to provide us the opportunity to shift to greener means of transport, by putting their resources to developing and producing greener vehicles such as EVs etc.

Like someone said, "it is difficult to make someone understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it". So this i a good way to make people think of the planet to make them think about themselves.

Rather Ghastly idea
Fuel developed from coal can only be a pollutant seeing as coal itself is the highest pollutant. I still see EVs as the most viable option among alternative energy vehicles. On CTL fuels: still a bad idea posted 1 year, 8 months ago 6 Responses
Great new initiavie at Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa has made it to the list of some of the greenest cities in the US largely because of its Geysers' wastewater-to-electricity project. This project converts 12 million gallons of wastewater the city pumps to the steam fields daily into 85 megawatts of power, enough to power 85,000 homes. Unfamiliar Concept
The privatization of eco-systems is, as you say spooky, and i am not clear on how this will incur profit for the owning corporation. It is not a business model that i am at familiar with, but if it does work, then it will be a great initiative i guess.

Mahatma Gandhi said
"The earth has enough for every man's need, but not every man's greed". It is perhaps because of our greed that the environment has come to such a pass. We now need to do all that we can to repair what damage we can and if not at least limit it. Electric vehicles are one step in this direction for lower emissions of greenhouse gasses. I hope that more people seek to embrace them this year.
