  • No amendment, just distraction

No doubt, amendment to the constitution banning gay marriage cannot be of minor importance as it is really important to gays as well as to members of their families and their other close persons and to those who are strongly convinced that any person irrespective of his or her origin, skin color or sexual orientation has the right to have a family protected by law. But will there be real amendments? Will this amendment really improve life of gays? This is hardly possible to believe. Perhaps everyone understands that Republicans are simply trying to make us forget about other, and perhaps more important issues. • Contraceptive pill can reduce risk of HIV in gays

The idea of male contraceptive pill seems to be a good one, as with these pills men, as well as women can be responsible for birth-control. Besides, I think these pills can reduce risk of HIV in gays practicing anal sex, as the virus is mostly present in semen. Though even absence of semen does not make sexual intercourse completely safe, it considerably reduces the risk. This does not mean that there is no need of condom, but it seems that condom together with such a pill does make anal sex safe. No matter if condom breaks or not, the semen will not get into the body. Thus the pill can be not only a method of birth control, but a mean to reduce risk of HIV in gays as well. But will men be responsible enough to take the pill in time? And can really women rely on their partners? This remains an open question. Pure love for dolphin is quite ok. But what about satisfying her intimate urges? Though wait... marriage sex is not so essential when a true understanding between partners exists. On Woman marries dolphin posted 2 years, 11 months ago 4 Responses

  • sex and popolation growth

As far as I understood, the core of high population growth problem tackles insofar the earth resources are not limitless. It seems to me that prejudice comes from confusion of sex and birth control. It's just a waste of time to discourage sex only to control population growth. We are born physical, our instincts urge for satisfaction, and regular sex is healthy. The question is only how to channel this sexual energy so that to come around an optimal balance in population growth. On If you want your kid to be famous. posted 3 years ago 3 Responses

  • To abstain or not to abstain?

No doubt , sexual abstinence before marriage is the best way of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases prevention. As well we cannot cast doubts upon the fact that being popular with young people abstinence before marriage will decrease early pregnancy that is a topical problem in developing countries. Nevertheless, let me suppose that abstinence-only-until-marriage program has its disadvantages. Don't you think that it might lead to early marriages? People can be persuaded that sex before marriage is inadmissable, but they cannot be persuaded that they should not have sexual desire. What is their best way out? The answer is evident - to get married. Well, early marriage can be happy, but in most cases early marriages break up. As the result children have to live in incomplete families. So the question remains: what is better, to teach teens how to use condoms or to persuade them into refusing sex until marriage? On Happy World Population Day posted 3 years ago 2 Responses

  • Stingy will pay twice

If talking about adult toys materials, everyone has a choice to make. Most will choose affordable - like latex or plastic toys. It's great that more and more environmentalists reflect on the impact of such a cheap choice.  On Ever thought about the toxins in your sex toys? posted 3 years, 1 month ago 28 Responses

  • agree with kmp

I don't know whether we can link happiness with GDP and environmental problems, but I surely can say that happiness has a psychological nature, and material things will slightly improve the situation. Surely, we cannot deny that according to Maslow hierarchy of needs: until physiological(inclusive material needs) and safety needs are satisfied, the higher needs won't matter so much to a person. But as we can see this logic doesn't work for feeling of happiness after all.
Besides, it seems that global problems will be even higher on this pyramid. On Just because GDP doesn't track happiness is no reason to reject economic growth posted 3 years, 1 month ago 29 Responses

  • Who will be easier to convince?

It can be a big problem to persuade a man into using a condom. I wonder how one can cope with the dog?

  • let's incorporate two global problems

I won't argue there is a great deal of truth that when personal motivation doesn't work, then addressing someone with global danger problems may make a stir among a higher authority. But if talking about each person in particular... when even "escape undesired consequences"(like danger of lung cancer) motivation campaigns don't give
wanted effects, probably "obtaining rewards" motivation can make a difference. As an example, not so long ago anti-smoking pills were discovered to increase libido. May be we could kill two birds with one stone and begin to tackle birth-rate problems? On What we can learn from anti-smoking advocates posted 3 years, 1 month ago 7 Responses

  • what about condoms

And what about enormous number of well-known latex condoms that are thrown away? There are a lot of lubricated and flavored ones which don't contribute to biodegradability, by the way.
