- Here is a strange thing...When I drink store bought milk I get bad diarrhea and stomach cramps. when I drink raw milk from the the local processor I have NO ISSUES. Which is safer for me?? Obviously the raw milk .. I have pretty much traced it down to the "enrichment" they seem to insist on adding. I have found 1 organic milk that does not contain the added "enrichment" but it is not always available.. I can pick up my milk from the farmer every week.On Umbra on raw milk posted 1 month, 3 weeks ago 20 Responses
Mercury .. Caustic soda
Ya know according to this article the problem is the caustic soda they use to break down the corn.
Well I would hazard a guess that the same type of caustic soda is used for MOST processed corn.
Processed corn is in dang near everything. I know because I have allergies to it :-p.
Also A LOT of this stuff comes from China(90%-95% of citric acid also made from corn) .. and we know how good their quality control is.
I would be willing to bet money. That if other products with processed corn were tested. They would also show a mercury content.
Sheer quantity, even if the inorganic mercury isn't as bad as the organic mercury, would seem to indicate that maybe it should be looked into.
LOL of course that is too much common sense for the government :-p.On Why is the FDA unwilling to study evidence of mercury in high-fructose corn syrup? posted 9 months, 2 weeks ago 7 Responses
dog food my 2 cents
I personally switched from being a long time(close to 20 years) IAMS customer to a new food. Even though I feed predominately dry to both my dogs and cats. I was a bit unnerved that some IAMS canned foods were in the melamine recall. I switched to food from Healthy pet net.
I want to know what is up with all the promotion in commercials, the web and other places of High Fructose Corn Syrup?? I think they are full of it with their new adds that say HFCS is safe. I have SEVERE allergic/sensitivity reactions to HFCS but not to regular corn syrup. I guess they think we are gullible and actually believe commercials. Though sadly I guess some people are susceptible to them.On Is organic pet food worth the trouble? posted 1 year, 1 month ago 12 Responses
