  You must be kidding!!  I would and do happily encourage my chldren to be just that "pissy" about the future we have created for them.  Those of us who are Baby Boomers had the luxury of being born into a planet that was still in relatively decent shape.  Yes, it was a bit beat up, but nothing compared to what my youngest child was born into.  The fact is, we could cut our carbon emissions to pre-industrial levels tomorrow and the consequences we are witnessing now will still continue to unfold for hundreds of years.  How could you ask such a question?  This kid is expressing moral outrage, and well he should because this is a moral issue.  You may think it's excessively dramatic to say this, but we have no right to destroy anyone's future or to take from them  the possibility of the comforts and privileges we have been afforded. Those we have brought into the world and those who come after them have every right to be pissed off.  I would be filled with a great sense of hope if every twelve year-old kid sounded like that.  We need to prepare ourselves to hear all voices and not tell a single one of them to STFU.  Listen up!!!On What do you think? posted 2 years, 9 months ago 10 Responses
