More About Me

I've always cooked since I was about 6. At first it started with me just taking the hamburger meat out of the freezer at lunch, it soon progressed to me unpacking it and putting it in the electric frying pan. Soon I was making the chili. We were a single parent family and my mother didn't get home till 5:30 most night, needless to say I was home from school way earlier and as it turn out at 7 better cook then my mom. You combine that with my adolescent crush and fascination with Graham Kerr (aka the Galloping Gourmet) and well you can probably image the rest. I was always political, although the focus has changed. About four years ago I started doing food styling, assisting mostly, but it was always on the back burner as at the same time I opened up a small store in the East Village, an SE Asian import store, I got to travel all over SE Asia and bring back goodies, fun , but not necessarily a good business model. It last three years. During that time I continued to do food work when i could. When it ended last January it seemed like the food work would continue. It did until June of '08 when everything just stopped. So in order to keep focused and busy I started my blog - urbanfoodguy.blogspot.com 10 months unemployed and counting. God news is that things seem to be brewing over at the blog and maybe soon it will turn into something more. Check it out and say hi. Oh and I love Grist.org my new favorite site. Cheers.

Geez, I know it was way back in November, but didn't we vote for change?

Didn't we vote so this kind of shit wouldn't go down on our watch?  Why is this Peterson guy even a democrat if he acts like a republican?

Why do I feel so helpless?  What's Obama doing?????

    Wow, how depressing.

Thanks for all the good news Tom ;-)  Great work as always.

I'll link it to my blog, there's got to be some kind protest about this.

Thanks for the great reporting, I put it on my Facebook page and blogged about it as well: urbanfoodguy.blogspot.com

I think Vil sack of shit should be removed, I think he should never have been appointed and thankfully there is a movement a foot of like minded soles who think the same, so maybe, just maybe we have a chance.
