I'm thinking that selling cars could be just a bit different from educating people about the greenhouse effect and the need for carbon pricing...On Top 25 reasons to give a damn about climate change posted 9 hours, 54 minutes ago 19 ResponsesClick here to view comment in original post
Sigh... here goes.... Does the hot-girls-in-their-underwear thing really work? I mean, is showing hot-girls-in-their-underwear waking people up to climate change and other environmental issues? Or is greenstripping more a career move for the hot-girls-in-their-underwear? I only ask because (and I never thought this would happen to me) I'm actually getting tired of seeing hot-girls-in-their-underwear pretty much every time I open Grist. I actually used to really (really, really) like seeing hot-girls-in-their-underwear. But now that I've started reading Grist, I see hot-girls-in-their-underwear all the time. So hot-girls-in-their-underwear is getting a bit dull. Even "hot-girls-in-their-underwear" can get repetitive...On Top 25 reasons to give a damn about climate change posted 1 day, 2 hours ago 19 ResponsesClick here to view comment in original post

Daniel - you might want to read my post a little more carefully. I'm actually on your side on this :-). I suspect that the fossil fuel sector has funded epidemiological studies on so-called wind turbine syndrome, and found that there are no impacts, and has buried that research. It's pretty much common knowledge that Big Tobacco did research about the health impacts of tobacco, and buried it. That's not conspiracy theory; it's a matter of record. On One doctor’s quest to sound the alarm on ‘wind turbine syndrome’ posted 3 days, 12 hours ago 57 ResponsesClick here to view comment in original post
Steve, with all the money out there opposed to renewable energy (e.g. in the hands of Exxon and their ilk), and with wind turbines having been operated for decades, don't you think that epidemiological studies have already been done? I suspect they have been done, and that their wealthy backers buried them because they didn't show what they wanted. It's not like this sort of thing hasn't been done before (e.g. Big Tobacco). On One doctor’s quest to sound the alarm on ‘wind turbine syndrome’ posted 4 days, 1 hour ago 57 Responses
