White House gardeners...
As the mother of an eight year old with a frustrated gardening bug (we live in an apartment) I can think of two perfect assistants for the White House Gardener.
Malia and Sasha are the perfect age to learn to garden, and have been, according to one of those squishy women's magazine articles, trying to improve their diets. Think of the message that would send. Food gardening is important enough to warrant the attention of a White House Gardener...and it's accessible enough for a gradeschooler to accomplish. Besides, think of the cute photo ops.
