    Bright ideas with lighting alternatives

I know a few colleges in Toronto and Ontario, Canada, as well as a theater school in Rockville, Md., that use automated, energy-saving lighting systems. Georgian College in Ontario uses Lutron Electronic's EcoSystem commercial lighting control system that saves that college over $130,000 a year, according to a Lutron case study. These systems do a lot of things, such as take advantage of natural lighting, or dim the lights when no one is around. Lutron's EcoSystem is saving the college over 70 percent in energy costs over the previous system. It's a bright idea :) Colleges should check it out - more energy is spent on lighting buildings than people realize! On 15 creative ways that students and colleges are going greener posted 1 year, 2 months ago 1 Response
