Why isn't there more new urbanism?
As everyone does, I have a theory. Most people seem to feel the need to protect themselves from attack, danger, belittling, so they need to surround themselves with "stuff", creating a circle of protection which keeps getting larger and larger, distancing themselves from others by large houses and large plots of land. How does one reverse this trend which only people with money or power can follow?
I am going to read the Poverty & the Environment series to see if that gives any ideas.
