  Spilled milk and coffee grounds

  Long ago, when my son was still of milk spilling age (well, to be honest, he still is, and the cream in my coffee, which spills probably counts too), anyway, I heard Tom and Ray talking about spillage and cars on Car Talk.  Someone had recommended putting  damp coffee grounds on the area affected, letting them sit until dried, then vacuuming them up.  Being a coffeeholic, I always have damp coffee grounds around so I gave it a try.  It worked.  
  I suppose this could be a problem if you don't like the smell of coffee but that isn't an issue in my case.  Most of the grounds still ended up in the compost as I scraped up what I could, and I didn't have to use any nasty chemicals.  It was a win/win kind of thing.  Good luck!On Umbra on cleaning cars inside and out posted 8 months, 3 weeks ago 6 Responses

  non skid garage

  My garage floor is very slippery when wet.  I find that my old yoga mat makes a good non-skid surface between the door of the garage and the door of my car.  Given it's composition, it will probably outlast my garage. On Umbra on toxic yoga mats posted 1 year, 8 months ago 19 Responses
