  Fireplace Ashes

  I have had great luck putting the fireplace ashes on my compost pile. They help break down the compost really quickly, and mix in well. I must say that I have not had the compost soil-tested, but I think that by the time the ash mixes with the compost and is applied to the garden, it's basic qualities are pretty well broken down.On Umbra on fireplace ashes posted 2 years ago 6 Responses
