    Ownership Rules

Great points by djackson and Green engineer, with Gar's point about power sharing.  Having been a member of a Food Coop for years now, advocating Fair Trade, and read W. Greider's The Soul of Capitalism, the depth of the injustice of the current system and the democratic logic of employee ownership is powerful.  I studied psychology and worked in social services, and the logic can be linked to Piaget, early Freud, and Jung and so on.  Employees are dispossessed in the modern business, an anachronism from feudalism in modern democracy.  Marjorie Kelly also has an interesting discussion around this issue.  No wonder apathy, hatreds, and denial has proliferated so widely in the US of A.

Thank God you're alive, and maybe already contributing to progressive alternatives. It's ironic that modern activism builds on Christ's teachings, no?

    Amory's on Our Side

I have reached the point where I guess I'm reflecting Klausewitz's insight, for the sake of addressing Neoliberal economics' hold on so many people.
I am thankful for Lovins' work and attitudes.  While he promotes the efficiency imperatives within Neoliberalism's false, but powerful, premises, I support the reform and alternatives of what might be called  "democratic-maximization economics".  As William Greider discusses in his book The Soul of Capitalism, the solution lies in the obvious focus on responsible ownership practice, as promoted by ESOP's and more.On And does it well posted 1 year, 8 months ago 9 Responses
