If electric cars are being used as storage, doesn't this undermine their use as cars? Suppose the wind dies down in the night, when there's no solar, and you go out to the car and find you don't have enough juice to get to work because it's been used to keep your neighbors' houses warm and to cook your breakfast? If you set a minimum charge that your batteries need to maintain for transportation, how much does that leave for grid storage? On Renewables are inevitable, transmission is optional posted 1 month ago 72 Responses

My technique: Take one large, empty liquid laundry detergent bottle; pop out the pour spout (grab it with a pair of pliers and yank--it just snaps in); pee in the bottle and keep it capped; when it's time for a brown flush, pour into toilet, rinse, spray with a green cleaner, and repeat. The advantage is that the toilet doesn't get smelly from accumulated pee, and you can get by with one or two flushes a day. It's a bit more convenient for guys, but the large-mouthed jug makes it possible for women, too.

    bush's new refuge.

I'm naive, I guess: What's the difference between recreational fishing and sport fishing, and how does banning recreational fishing but still allowing sport and commercial fishing in 80% make it a reserve? Unless I'm missing something crucial, banning recreational fishing and allowing the other two varieties artificially inflates the size of the "reserve." PR smoke and mirrors? On Bring in the Reserves posted 2 years, 3 months ago 4 Responses
