    Bottled water

How can people complain about the cost of a gallon of gas and still guzzle bottled water that is much more costly?  Since 40% of bottled water is merely tap water that has added minerals/been filtered, they are paying for something that flows from their tap for less than pennies.   Perceived as healthier, bottled water is tested far less often than municipal water and it is required only to meet, not exceed the standards for tap water.

You can still avoid bottled water while on the road.  BYOB - before leaving, fill up a glass bottle that will hold your supply for the day and bring your water with you.On Anti-bottled-water campaign kicks off in cities across U.S. posted 2 years, 1 month ago 4 Responses

    The Green Red Socks

It's great opportunity to expose a lot of people to green options, but I do have some concerns.

Biodegradable cups packed into trash bags and tossed into the landfill with mounds of other garbage will not decompose without light and air.  Hurray if they plan to capture the biodegradable cups/plates along with the appropriate food scraps for the compost bin.

There's plenty of room for improvement in concession stand food offerings at sporting events.  As a CSA member, I'm all in favor of locally grown organic food.  I worry that it will not stand a chance next to the hot dogs, chips and junk food that will most likely still be on the menu.On Red Sox partner with NRDC to green Fenway Park posted 2 years, 1 month ago 5 Responses
