  Not an excuse to cut

  While it's no big surprise that ONLY planting trees isn't going to save us from the clmate cunundrum we've created, my concern is that forest management agencies will use this type of research as an excuse to clear cut forest.  This study is NOT saying trees have no effect in climate modulation.  It's saying trees can't sequester all the carbon people are emitting.  Once again we are told that we have to reduce our emissions.On Their Bark Is Worse For Our Blight posted 2 years, 3 months ago 5 Responses

  Aesthetics could go a long way

  No one wants to see ungly and imposing industrial wave power structures near shore.  But, incorporate some "female energy" into this issue and it could become power generating art.  Think of attractive Buoyant Moored Devices that are like bobbing sculptures.  I certainly wouldn't want to see wave power structures in any protected wilderness/natural areas, but why not in developed areas?  Here's a challenge to engineers: pair up with an artist and start a new eco-power ocean art movement!On Umbra on wave power posted 2 years, 4 months ago 4 Responses
