  Expensive

  This law is good in some ways. However, it is not fair to consumers, especially middle to lower income ones. The front loaders are very expensive, yes you can save money in the long term, but only after quite a few years. This is one of the easiest ways to generate a backlash against the environmental movement, by forcing people to spend a lot more money now.   Spin Dryer

  A much less expensive way to save money is to use a spin dryer. With a spin dryer, you remove more water from the clothes than even a front loader does, but you don't have to make such a big investment- spin dryers are only about $130.
