Sustainable sushi
Many fish & shellfish populations ARE sustainable because they come from well-managed fisheries. The role of Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch, and of other sustainable seafood programs, is to help individuals and businesses make choices that preserve healthy ocean ecosystems and the livelihoods of people in fishing communities. We've gotten the attention of big seafood buyers, who are responding to consumer demand by changing their buying practices. Ultimately, that will translate into better fishing and fish-farming practices. -- Ken Peterson, Monterey Bay AquariumOn Green groups to release sustainable sushi guides posted 1 year, 1 month ago 5 Responses
