  Efforts to go green ?!?!? ha ha ha

  Well a tear nearly swelled up in my eyeball, reading this article about the 'Greening of Bonaroo' I'd love nothing more than for this to be true...
  However the only thing that sounds mildly un-hypocritical about this whole Green-aRoo is the "Solar Stage" and the chance to buy "Cool Tags" to offset the pollution caused by their travel to this massive party. I am curious how much kWH's was produced by the "Solar Stage" and how much fossil fuel energy was consumed during this 3 day party??? (got your notes Sarah?? research research research)
  I applaud the green sentiments of the artists but it sounds pretty silly to me... This festival generates millions and millions of dollars each year...why don't some of these conscious artists "walk the talk" and forfeit some of their earnings for one year to go into a "Green aRoo Fund" and buy enough solar panels and wind turbines to supply the entire festival for years and years to come, and therefore entirely reduce the eco-footprint of their merrymaking.  Its great to get up on stage  and chat up the environmental movement thing, but it is silly because "they" Bonaroo staff and artists have the power to do more than preach about it.  80,000 X $220 (or however much tix cost nowdays) is more than enough money to do something about it...  Why not get BP Solar, GE Wind, Evergreen Solar, or someone to sponsor this thing...what better advertising than 80,000 people staring at your solar panels and turbines for 3 days...Not to mention the benefit for this farm after all the consumers are gone, how much renewable energy will they be spitting back out in to the grid for their fellow Tennessee citizens???  
  www.solarfest.com (a miniature music fest-5,000 or so people, but all energy for the stage lights, music, and vending is supplied on-site by the solar panels flanking the stage...)
