Food prep time
I have a full time job, and a consulting practice. I manage to produce a home-cooked meal 6 nights a week.
I go shopping once a week on Sunday morning, which takes me about 90 minutes including travel (bike, not car).
Most meals take me around 30 minutes. If I know I'm going to be home for an extended period of time, say on the weekend, I'll cook more elaborate things for the week.
Whenever I've probed people about this, it's usually about training and knowledge, rather than lack of desire.
Cooking is not an inborn skill, and we don't have classes in our schools to teach things like how to shop, how to prepare a dinner, and how to run a household. On How I beat KFC's 'family meal' challenge posted 1 year ago 46 Responses

Cuisinart Green Gourmet
I have the 12" Cuisinart "green" non-stick.
It sticks, burns, and may not even be green.I've had mine for about 6 months. It worked for a month or so, then started developing "sticky" spots, where eggs would stick during cooking.
The pan is not very non-stick at all anymore, regardless of the amount of fat I put in.
Avoid it, get stainless or cast iron.On Umbra on green cookware posted 1 year, 1 month ago 12 Responses
