    now not later

April Fools or not, to quote the article (not the shortened version jabailo seems to be quoting):

"However perfecting new nuclear technologies requires years of development, he adds.

Popa-Simil agrees, saying it will be at least a decade before final designs of the radiation-to-electricity concept are built."

At least a decade before final DESIGN concept is built... hmmmm....  I thought all this energy talk was about transition, not holding out for future science whizmos that may never come to fruition. On Subsidies contribute to muddying of biodiesel instead of boosting the industry posted 1 year, 7 months ago 16 Responses

    vermicomposting!

if you don't have a convenient back yard for composting, try vermicomposting.  These "red wrigglers" will eat your garbage, and give you worm castings, a great fertilizer to put in your potted plants.  It doesn't smell as long as you keep it from getting too moist with drainage holes.  What drains is also great fertilizer for your plants, or for that little patch of grass squeezed between the sidewalk and the road.

    groped in Mexico City

I just wanted to share with y'all a little story about myself walking through a turnstile boarding a subway in mexico city.  some jerk came up behind me and groped me RIGHT as i was going through, which meant that i couldn't turn around and smack him unless i wanted to pay for another fare.  if i rode the subway everyday there, i would wear full body armor... or a barrel.  I understand the consequences of separating transit among class/status/gender/race, but if my pride was squashed everytime i got on the subway on my way to work, i would definately opt for the separation. On Mexico City encourages transit ridership with women-only buses posted 1 year, 9 months ago 8 Responses
