  I have to agree

  I think that justlou has brought up a really interesting point about optimism and pessimism. I think that it would be very foolish if society (especially the West) got so naive they thought society couldn't possibly move backwards, or more technically, experience a global recession. CNN had an interesting documentary a few years ago about this involving world energy supplies. They ran a scenario where a level 5 hurricane hit the gulf coast of Texas followed by a terrorist attack on the two largest oil reserves in Saudi Arabia. It painted a very bleak picture.   Bush doesn't care a bit about the environment, but the democrats seem to be too busy lashing about other issues (Iraq) and haven't done diddly for the environment. These days, they are more focused on bashing Bush. They are being beaten big time by the Green Party on this, as they should be. I'm tired of both democrats and republicans providing nothing more than lip service to the environment during election years.   Seth Borenstein is obnoxious and blamed me for not being able to meet a deadline over a lousy phone call. He is one of the many reasons why Bob Knight is one of my heroes. If Seth and Knight Ridder don't want to write about what me and my associates do for the environment, that's fine. I've got Bill O'Reilly, the greatest journalist ever, and even the NY times. So hey, if Knight Ridder doesn't want my business, I've got other avenues. He's just a typical writer who doesn't want to talk about the environment all that badly.
