Who Benefits?
A serious piece of quantifying global warming gets destroyed at its launch point.
Unlike jabailo I feel that the coal power plants online and the hundreds proposed to go online this year around the world are wearing a new banner with a long history;
"Mission Accomplished!"

Labels be Gone!
Why must an idea have a political label? Why can it not exist on its own merit under peer review? Creating this devisive culture the top 2% can control the other 98% because this minority is very solidly in control and of one opinion.
I believe where we lost it was when doing the right thing became an option. Its been a slippery slope ever since.

Tire Weights First - Tires - NEXT!!!
It is good to be following (belatedly albeit) the EU in hopefully banning lead wheel weights. Also hopefully we will take their path in not following through on the ethanol craze soonest.
But even more disturbing than lead weights on tires is what is actually in tires? A friend who does software consulting said during a luncheon with some tire exec's they chortled over the beating gas producers were getting from the "green" folks since they were getting a free ride. They also talked about some of their "experiemental" new additives to tires (it was asbestos until 15 years ago). Perhaps the seriously under funded/staffed EPA should check this out?On California to phase out lead weights on tires by end of 2009 posted 1 year, 3 months ago 2 Responses

Go Seaweed!
Something undermentioned but is the vegan or vegetarian harvests from the sea. I just went on a Pacific Northwest seaweed harvesting weekend sponsored by a teacher from Bastyr University on Lopez Island in the San Juan islands of western Washington. We have made bull kelp pickles and spears (both dill and sweet) and dried the bull kelp fronds along with much nouri and bladderwrack sea weed. The vitamins and minerals are awesome from these plants but getting "good" iodine, not radioactive iodine is a huge plus for all omnivores. Harvest responsibly (cut the bull kelp stype above its grounding rock and it will re-grow quickly) and use everything (scraps go on our compost heap to nourish the garden).
