What I find funny about this, is that right below the do nothing Friday article is a Black Friday advertisement on a washer from Sears. On This Friday, don't just Buy Nothing -- use nothing! posted 5 days, 20 hours ago 6 ResponsesClick here to view comment in original post

Well according to the Washington Post, Gates had a Sam Adams Light. Not much of a better choice. However what about Biden having a Buckler. Nothing like non-alcoholic brew! That's the guy to party with!

A few more ideas.
As an environmental educator, there are several things I make my students do. On transportation, I tell them to plan a trip of over 10 miles that does not involve a car. When they return their assignment, I tell them the next part-now go do it! They got extra credit if they convinced a parent to go along. For several it was their first trip on public transportation. One group planned a Metrolink trip to the beach. It was so successful that the next weekend a dozen other students also tried it. Another is water usage. They are told to monitor all of their water usage for 1 week. Then they try to come up with ways to cut it. They are also challenged to take the shortest showers. With teenagers, this is quite an accomplishment. They are used to 30+ minute showers. When we do river testing for various chemicals, the best part is getting the students out to the riparian areas. They absolutely love hiking through and around rivers. Its an added bonus. On Umbra on eco-actions for kids posted 11 months ago 12 Responses

flex-fuel
Its amazing the feds buy these cars and put them in parts of the country where there is no ethanol. They are all over California. Why are we spending extra for them? You see them at government auctions all the time, where they sell them with only 30K miles on them. Another waste! But, I can't complain that's where I bought my cng cars with only 19K on them and paid a ridiculously low price. You see very few cng and a ton of the ethanol cars now.
What really gets me is the car companies get credit for making them even though they never use ethanol!
Maybe Obama will change this. Wait, he's from an ethanol state. On Vast majority of feds' flex-fuel cars still run on straight gasoline posted 1 year ago 2 Responses
