Thermos
Thermos ... it keeps hot things hot, and cold things cold. How does it know? :-)
There are also a few bike accessory companies that make modified water bottle cages to fit thermos bottles, as well as one or two that make handlebar mounted cages for cups/travel mugs. I can't personally vouch for either (I put my thermos in my pannier) but I know these products are available. On Umbra on transporting coffee by bike posted 1 year, 7 months ago 12 Responses

Major Chains - and defending Meg
Hi Rich. This may not be available in your area, but if you are still looking for a major chain restaurant, Chipotle (the burrito place) boasts that they use free-range, antibiotic-free, "all-natural" pork in their carnitas (shredded pork). Also, their black beans are primarily organic, tho they are very up-front about the fact that they can't purchase sufficient quantity of organic black beans to be able to say they use "only" organic. Not sure what their policy is on beef.
Askantik - Please don't attack Meg for her inquiry. If you read her entire question, it is insightful. Perhaps it is in contrast to your belief system but please respect that people have opinions that differ from yours. The world is not black and white, and people sometimes make decisions we don't agree with. Tolerance and compassion compels us to accept people in spite of our differences. Just a thought.

flushable diapers
Being kooky tree-huggers ourselves, we can totally sympathise with you. If you haven't heard of them already, we use and love gDiapers (www.gdiapers.com). We found that they are (diaper for diaper) about equivalent in price to cloth diaper service (which we used to subscribe to). While not quite as absorbant as traditional disposable diapers, they still reduce the fequency of diaper changes (compared to cloth) and thus we saved money on a monthly basis. Also, the gDiapers have the advantage that they are flushable and therefore don't stink up your bathroom and/or nursery. The gDiaper web site has a lot of information about the environmental benefits associated with their diapers. I think they offer gift certificates/shower service - so you might want to add 3-month or 6-month of gDiapers to your wish list. Good luck.On Umbra on baby gifts posted 2 years, 7 months ago 14 Responses
