    Transmission

I heard that such lines cost 1.5 million per mile. If say, 50 sq mi of land was to be used for CST (concentrated solar thermal) plants, and assuming that each 7 sq mi = 1 gigawatt (probably less but with much higher capacity with molten salt storage), and assuming that it cost $4 per watt, then $28 billion for a small percentage of America's needs but at least 28 times than cost of the lines! If everybody paid a dollar a month for lines, then over 100 miles worth every month! On Solar thermal power deserves more attention, due to its lower cost and relative ease of storage posted 1 year, 1 month ago 35 Responses

    Nuclear?

(I'm not into nuclear), just saying that somebody's got to be smart if that person can figure out how to effectively deal with the wastes. On In presidential debate, McCain misleads on nuclear power posted 1 year, 1 month ago 12 Responses

    I'm a moron...

If morons believe that money spent on AE will expontiate upon itself. Do the math, (actually, just "commonsence it") , if say, only 25% of our energy requirements come from alternative energy, wouldn't a hundred times more jobs be created than just 45 new and overpriced n reactors???
You' the moron if you think that we can continue to sustain billions of people on existing energy policy and you are not if you agree with nuclear and can prove the best disposal thereof

With the (less expensive and UNLIMITED) potential of solar power towers, our problems can be solved. Oh ya, SPT's need nuclear class tubines in order to handle all that energy, (so even more of your jobs would be created! On In presidential debate, McCain misleads on nuclear power posted 1 year, 1 month ago 12 Responses

    Hydrogen's a waste?

Not only is electric more efficient, there seems to be more going on with e cars than h cars. Electricity is unlimited, is tried and true for over a century, and is delivered at the speed of light through an already existing pipeline. Down here, (in California), all of that energy could be generated by the solar power tower concept which stores heat for later electrical production. Infact, just that alone (as with just wind and its viable storage alone) could power this wasteful nation many times over.
Granted, we will have to be more efficient (lest we can afford a Tesla) but NiMH batteries should be on the list for mass cheapernization...On Electric vehicles crowd out hydrogen brethren at sustainable driving conference posted 1 year, 1 month ago 27 Responses
