    Green racing

I believe there is already a club for battery-powered drag racers.  They could be the launching platform for the green racing industry.  I have a '68 Impala that has the original 396 c.i. engine still in it.  It sits in my garage waiting for an entrepeneur who will devise a way to make it eco-friendly.  I love that car, the ride is so smooth, I feel safer in it.  And yes, I do like to go fast.  I think that's just the way it is for some of us.  But there should be a clean, safe, and equitable way for us speed freaks to get our kicks.  It's not impossible.

FUEL is power is money is greed is.........

The next thing you know, we'll have a reality TV series based on "The Green Mafia".  Greed knows no boundaries.  ANYTHING that is in demand by the masses will cause a trail of lies, murder, deceit, and corruption if it is controlled by the few and not the many.  We need a ENERGY UNION that is focused on SAVING resources, equitable distribution of resources, and replenishment of those resources.  THAT will NEVER happen as long as you have HUGE CONGLOMERATES whose ONLY BOTTOM LINE is the quarterly net profit.  Which in turn is only distributed to the elite few at the top who had enough business sense to write the corporate guidelines.  AMERICA used to be a united group of people with common goals.  Until we put the power back into the hands of many, rather than the hyper-educated (or hyped) few, our country will continue to be the great country that was.  Our parents and grandparents dream is no longer alive thanks to corporate greed.  America is no longer the country my Dad fought to protect.  I would not go to war to help corporate America; I would only go to war to help my fellow citizens who have the same needs I do.  The revolution is coming.  It's only a matter of time.  Look at history. On An Ugly Alternative posted 2 years, 5 months ago 3 Responses

Taxes should help those who produce

Ok. I understand the need for fuel tax. But if a farmer grows his own crop, does the necessary processing to get it to the ready-for-fuel stage, and then uses all of it to fuel the machines that grow the corn to make fuel for others, is he not performing a service for which he can claim tax exemptions?  And if he is buying the fuel from someone else, should that producer not be the one to benefit directly from taxes levied to support his ability to provide a valuable resource for others?  In other words, if we could balance the number of producers with the number of users such that our energy costs are absorbed in the process of making more energy available for others, wouldn't we be producing more power than we're using?  So shouldn't we all (as consumers) be looking at ways to produce?  On Progress Doesn't Pay posted 2 years, 5 months ago 2 Responses

    Nothing to Fear But Corps

    FEAR THE CORPS!
Way back in 1994, my group at ORNL was involved in remedial surveying and cleanup of formerly utilized Manhattan Engineer District uranium milling sites.  A "spy" from the CORPS infiltrated our group (posing as a "guest" who wanted to learn more about our program - yeah, right!). About a year later, the CORPS, in cahoots with some congressmen from the wonderful state of New Jersey, commandeered our funding and PUT A LOT OF FOLKS OUT OF WORK!  Our group dwindled down from >50 to nothing in just a few short years.  Many were involuntarily retired.  I had to change jobs after spending >25 yrs specializing in gamma spectroscopy and radiation surveying.  YOU BETTER FEAR THE CORPS - they'll come after your job next!On Nothing to Fear But Corps Itself posted 2 years, 8 months ago 1 Response
