  Bicyclists, that are willing to pay an annual FEE, to pay for them!

  Roads were and are built, to carry cars & trucks, the bulk of the funding for them comes from Gasoline Taxes, Registration Taxes, and other fees.

  Since vast segments of the population CAN'T (physically, monitarily, or practically) use bicycle paths, which would be basically Recreational, there should be a FEE, to register your bike, and an Excise Tax to use it, to help pay to build the paths, and pay for the enforcement officers to keep it safe!

  No bicyclist, should be allowed to use the road way, without being licensed, after passing a test, on the rules of the road. There are way too many arrogant, and ignorant, bike riders! Riding three abreast, not staying to the side of the road, or turning in front of cars! I'm sure the problem goes both ways, but right now, it's always the auto driver that's blamed!

  Every time I see an article in my local paper about 'Bike Paths', it's always sponsered by someone selling expensive bikes, not for transportation to work, but Yuppie Recreation!   and I wouldn't expect you, Mr Grist to be perpetuating it!!

  You of All people know, Mr. Obama is not an Enviromentalist! Not when he supports, Nuclear Power and Coal! He even proved who's side he was on recently, since he's been in the Senate! The radio active nuclear spills; his constituents, what does Obama do? Makes a deal, to let the Power Co. self-identify any future spills, and volunterialy(sp) tell residents!

  Al Gore, has NOT endorsed, Obama and that says volumes! If Obama was 'Green', or Pro-Enviro. don't you think Al Gore (no friend of the Clintons) would have already done so??

  I'm Just Dumb, I guess

  So educate me! Exactly why do we want Big Electrical Co. to build massive Solar facilates?(Transporting energy long, and wasteful distances)
  Okay it's better then more coal, or nuclear! (Believe me, I know. I can't breath when I open my windows, in Florida, 25 miles from the three coal power plants) Everything, is covered with soot! Our screen room, (never used) the roof.

  Why doesn't the government set-up a program, with authorized installers, and low interest loans, so individual home owners can install Photo-voltic systems on their homes? Hopefully, with meters that run backwards? The homeowner being paid the same rate, that they pay!
  PS: Florida Light and Power, does NOT pay at the same rate, roughly, less then half! Do you havfe any idea how much SUN we have down here???? On Two proposed solar projects to boost California's solar capacity by half posted 1 year, 7 months ago 5 Responses

  If all your going to do is Re-Gurgitate what has already been said, or some talk radio hosts words, not your own, please spare us!!!

  Gore WON in 2000! (popular vote). If we had worked withthe Green Party and had Instant Runoff voting, or 'clean elections', he would have been President! (and exactly what has the Democratic Party done to fix our voting system?)

  I for one, voted for Gore (I liked his lock-box), volunteered and donated to Kerry (very Green), and CAN NOT vote for either Hillary or Obama!
  Not because of Gender/or Race; Based on the ISSUES! (ya know those things we hear so little about these days) Both 'D' candidates (McCain isn't even up for discussion), ARE Corporte/Centrists! Both a for Nuclear Power, and Coal! Both are for 'Free' trade (not Fair), Both are for Corporate De-Regulation, (NOT Media Reform) Obama wants to start: Private Retirement Accts (just like Bush)& cut Social Security Benefits by 45%!!

  I Will NOT give up my right to vote, just because I can't and won't vote Demacratic! I should in a democracy have the right to choose!! I'm not taking a vote away from anyone! My choose is to stay home (NOT), or vote third party!
