  Any article about the President and bicycles should at least mention his passion for cycling.  I read an article in a cycling magazine about President Bush's biking a while back.  The journalists had trouble keeping up with him on their ride...

  FICTION: something invented by the imagination or feigned; specifically : an invented story (Webster's dictionary)

  Criticizing this book as though it is a work of non-fiction only legitimizes the position of people who thumb their noses at global warming.

  This repetitive Bush bashing is really tiresome.  The election was over a year ago.

  Head shaking

  To make any forward progress on these issues, obviously of concern to us all, someday we will have to admit that "the other 50%" of the population should not be denied their input simply due to their politics.  If you think Democrats have a monopoly on concern for the environment and that bipartisan cooperation is not possible, this movement is doomed to failure.

  Politics

  It is increasingly clear that politics on BOTH sides of the aisle is responsible for lack of progress on clean energy and the environment.  Here on Cape Cod, for example, some extremely powerful pro-environnment, liberal voices have done more to set back offshore wind than President Bush could ever dream of doing.

  Partisan politics is doing more damage to environmental causes than the people who are openly fighting them.  Looking at local issues here, it concerns me that non-profits are so open (and sometimes so fanatic) about their politics.  The only purpose it serves is to alienate people who may not share the same beliefs.

  Environmentalism should be a bipartisan effort.  Our politics should be checked at the door.  If progress will ever be made, it will be when people realize that we all have a stake in this.
