high energy use while running
Vista uses a tremendous amount of processing power just to run the OS. Lots of processing power = high energy use.On Microsoft's Vista boasts energy-saving features, but does that mean it's eco-friendly? posted 2 years, 9 months ago 6 Responses

The right direction
Sarah,
Thanks for the info on the new program at ASU, it would have been nice if you had provided a link to the program's site: School of Sustainability at ASUThis type of program seems to be the direction that a lot of schools are moving, kudos to ASU for being the first to put it all together. They also hosted AASHE's conference last year, I hear the atmosphere was totally charged up.On Arizona State and other universities plug sustainability posted 2 years, 10 months ago 7 Responses

Good riddance
I'm just so glad Pombo was ousted. And to see a renewable energy guy replace him! It's just too bad the race was kept out of the headlines as far as I could see last night. On Green candidates claim a number of seats posted 3 years ago 4 Responses

Do not use facial tissue
Ever notice how when you use toilet paper when you sneeze, it rips apart? There's a reason for that.
According to wikipedia (and my dad):
"Toilet paper, which differs in composition from facial tissue, is designed to deteriorate when wet in order to keep drain pipes clear. Some types of toilet paper are designed to decompose in septic tanks, while other bathroom and facial tissues do not. Most septic tank manufacturers advise against using paper products that are non-septic tank safe."
Using facial tissue, even if it is recycled, is a very poor suggestion! Something is definitely not green if it causes damage to your plumbing and septic system. On Umbra on recycled toilet paper posted 3 years, 1 month ago 9 Responses

Sustainability Efforts
I would be interested to know statistics such as energy use per student and wind energy credits per student. It is important for leaders in the energy sector to recognize the tremendous strength that the fusion of energy conservation and sustainable energy hold.On Campuses across the country turn to renewable energy posted 3 years, 7 months ago 3 Responses
