Are you mad???  American population is WHAT??? 300 million compared to WHAT??? 1 billion plus??? CO2 emissions in the US are down they are not going up here in the US.  China is now the biggest polluter in the world and we hear nothing about them.  Again a multi staged change program will make the effort we need while keeping it affordable.  If it costs to much American shutdown.  Spead the cost over time and Americans will come along.  Threaten American jobs and lifestyles and American balk Reinforce the idea that change will improve American jobs and lifestyles and Americans will come along. From oil based fuels to compressed natural gas to hydrogen to all electric and we will get there.  Force an all or nothing change will only get you nothing.  Greenies need to take a more Asian tact to getting what they want.  Time will get you what you want better than beating the bad polluters over the head with excessive taxation and destroying jobs as you go.

Its amazing???  Greenies gone wild!!!  Again the libs in Congress have over reached and attempted to pass the all or nothing enviro bill.  The House wil of course pass it but the Senate will balk.  Spending billions to please a minority of activists is always the best way to make things happen with the enviromental problems we have.  Forgetting that the rest of the world do not have the billions to spend and we will be the only country to make the effort at risk to our economy and life style.  Yes we could change the way people think in the US but with the materialistic lifestyle we live there will be a limited response to the cry for change.  The best we can look for is a slow change in peoples minds while investing in change one step at a time.  Electric technology is not ready to take over for oil based fuels so a transition from gasoline to compressed natural gas to hydrogen to all electric is possible, but if you think you can force Americans to change look in the mirror and see that you yourselves will not change your minds on "Global Climate Change" without a fight, so where is the middle ground???  Its not an all or nothing argument.  Make the changes slowly making it affordable for everyone to get on the same road, and maybe we will get where we all want to be in the future.  Keep pushing all or nothing and we all loose.

    Caribou-Whoo-Whoo

Alaska and oil go hand in hand lately.  Oil prices are up so Alaska is looking good.  Well after the Valdez accident maybe not, but when lately have we heard about anything of that nature up there, lately.  Looking at records on wildlife up there seems to show an increase in Caribou herds not a decrese.  What are we to believe?  We can't all go up their to look around.  Maybe we need someone, lets say a fair minded group who can represent us their, who will look into things for us??  Well, there not being a truely fair and balanced opinion, then I guess we are at a loss as to who to believe?  The fact is we need the oil till someone finally pulls the head out and pushes Hydrogen as the true savior of the environment.  Grist, maybe you should wake up the world rather than poo-hoo about Caribou.  We will not save the world environment till someone takes the BULL (BS) by the horn.On Senate votes to open Arctic Refuge to drilling posted 4 years, 7 months ago 9 Responses

    HYDROGEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When will people pull it out???  We can solve the pollution problem by converting to Hydrogen at all energy levels.  People keep bringing up alternatives which only perpetuate the myth that we are fixing things.  HYDROGEN, HYDROGEN, HYDROGEN  GODS gift to the environment.  Anything else only keeps us locked on the tit of the oil well.  Even farmers know we can not grow enough bio fuels to meet the demand, when will the rest of the world catch up???

    What???

Ask China about population.  They impose draconian measures to reduce their population, and it still has not helped.  Stop eating animals is an interesting course except society has been conditioned to eating flesh through millions of years of evolution, and when have you seen a truely healthy vegan.  My vegan freinds take large amounts of supplements to help them stay vegan, Why is that???  So, where do we go then??  How about we teach a healthier life style all around.  Let the meat eaters eat meat, and the vegan eat grass if they wish.  Remove the chemicals from our foods and the environment, and maybe we will be healthier in say another million years.  By the way I'm moving to Mars when the first condo opens. On Umbra on having kids, revisited posted 4 years, 7 months ago 17 Responses
