Yard signs
The plastic sleeve yard signs can be removed from their frames and used as bags for any number of things. The first thing that comes to mind is to use them instead of wrapping paper for gifts for any occasion, especially for odd shaped presents. Polish it off
I am delighted to see reviews of products that are readily available. Most of the "green" products are not so easily found. I use the Sally Hansen products and find if I put a coat of the fast-drying top coat on, the whole process is much quicker. (I have NO patience with drying time.) I don't know about the ingredients in the top coat. Perhaps they are full of terrible things. I never thought about it before, but am glad to see it brought up. Thanks. On A five-fingered review of less-toxic nail polishes posted 1 year, 6 months ago 12 Responses

Tom's
I guess I'm the only one here who actually LIKES Tom's Cinnamint. For the 14 years we lived where it wasn't available in any store, I either had someone bring me many tubes from Maine, or later, I ordered large quanitities directly from Tom's. Fortunately, I now can buy it locally. Look at Ginny smile! -- with no cavities -- thank you fluoride. On A family-friendly review of six eco-toothpastes posted 1 year, 8 months ago 20 Responses

Are there pictures of the other houses? I would love to see them?On Building an eco-home from a favorite holiday sweet posted 1 year, 11 months ago 6 Responses

indoor/outdoor cats
We have a cat who was born outdoors and after 4 years still wants to go out a lot. We have found a way that works for us (people and cat). He has a harness and a 30 foot leash that allows him to wander the yard, hide under a bush, and watch nature. He is not much of a hunter, but likes to occasionally chase after another animal. He is restricted by the length of the leash. The squirrels, rabbits, birds, and voles all have figured out how close they can get and be safe. We have never found a dead bird or other animal (or parts thereof), with the exception of one dead vole that seems to have died of a heart attack (which may or may not have been caused by our cat).On Umbra on cats and birds posted 2 years ago 72 Responses
