"label listed meat from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand." this is exactly why big ag wants NAIS so they can cover the fact that they are bringing cheap foreign meat into this country from other places where they may not have the same disease controls and they can hide it under the guise of disease traceback of having me and other private animal owners file movement reports on their privately owned animals, like knowing everywhere i go with my horse prevents mad cow disease.....in the meantime big ag sells domestic beef for big $ to other countries. If you do not know what NAIS is check my previous comments or go to nonais.org for more info on the program that will affect ALL who eat!On Warning: This product may cause sickness, paralysis, and death posted 1 month, 1 week ago 51 Responses

When one of the tenets of HR 2749 is that dogs and cats will not be allowed on farms (can't remember the exact wording but this is what it boils down to) that shows me this bill is NOT small producer friendly and that the ability for us to grow our own food or develop any buy local movement will be regulated into obscurity. Big ag will become the sole supplier of food and you know how healthy (and controlling of the people) that will be!On Food safety in the 21st century posted 1 month, 2 weeks ago 1 Response

Yes, we are loudly reacting to NAIS and what it will do to our freedoms and pocketbooks. The USDA held "listening" sessions across the US this summer attended by those who oppose NAIS. The people got to speak and the overwhelming majority told why they do not need nor want NAIS (see USDA/NAIS listening sessions on youtube) but the USDA clearly had their fingers in their ears as their official statement was "we saw substantial support for NAIS at the listening sessions"!!!! It will take ALL WHO EAT to use the power of the vote to tell the elected offal that NAIS is not needed nor wanted. On Can the USDA really keep our food safe? posted 1 month, 2 weeks ago 10 Responses

Correct- but it is Big Ag's having convinced the govt (with over $150 mil of our tax dollars) that NAIS is what we need. I have called many elected offal and heads of college ag depts, vets, etc across the US and they are convinced NAIS is a "streamlined disease tracking program" that will keep our food supply safe. We already have many disease tracking programs in place and they work just fine. But when you tell the average horse, cow, pig, chicken owner all the expensive, time taking, freedom losing hoops they will have to jump through just to have even one animal they get mighty upset and resistant to the idea. p.s. I am not sure the comment by Walt K is by the Walt who has the no nais website, but even if not, I suggest all those concerned with the future of the quality and safety of their food take a gander at the nonais website. It has lots of info on NAIS, why it will not work, those for and against it, how to fight it and like the tendrils of a cancer, shows how NAIS, big ag, our goobermint are all working to make a smoke sscreen of food safety regulations that do nothing to make food safe but with making sure they keep on making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.On Can the USDA really keep our food safe? posted 1 month, 2 weeks ago 10 Responses

" i am very concerned that the bashing of so called "industrial ag" will hurt all agriculture and put unnecessary hardships on everyone. Permalink . " but it is ok for industrial ag to put hardships on those who are not even involved with them, like me for instance.... I am in no way involved with them except to buy meat, yet I will be forced against my will by NAIS regulations to file reports everywhere I go with my horse so they can say the meat they sell is safe? That will involve lots of costs for microhips, scanners, time and freedoms and I get no benefits nor paychecks for this.On Warning: This product may cause sickness, paralysis, and death posted 1 month, 2 weeks ago 51 Responses
