too old
I tried to sign up on the first day, and was told that I wasn't in the demographic you were looking for. Even though I wasn't interested in prizes, the message that I got was bye-bye, Granny. I'm glad that you're making this more clear now, but it was offensive to the, ahem, age-challenged.On Join new climate-action Facebook application, win rewards posted 8 months, 1 week ago 2 Responses

Can anybody argue with this statement?
"Unfortunately, many people mistakenly believe that being an environmentalist means being a shrill, opinionated extremist who tells others how to live their lives. Many associate environmentalism with exaggerated factual claims and an insufferable holier-than-thou attitude."
So how is this argument helping the environmental cause?
It reminds me of conservative Christians telling liberals that they can't be Christians, and vice versa.
Doesn't help, and does a helluva lot to hurt.On Animal-rights group makes the stupid claim that enviros must be vegetarians posted 2 years, 1 month ago 208 Responses

No whales here
Hello? There is nothing in the article about eating whales. Slow Food promotes reviving heritage breeds of domestic livestock, ones that can be bred humanely and sustainably in natural conditions rather than crammed into buildings and feedlots at factory farms. It's admirable that you have chosen vegetarianism, but you read the article wrong. On Savor your flavors with the slow-food movement posted 2 years, 5 months ago 4 Responses

Slow Food myths
Tom, you need to learn a little more about Slow Food if you think that it's just a high-end tasting club.
There may be a few elitists among us, but I couldn't tell you who they are. They hide it pretty well.
Here in our convivium to the east of you, almost all of our efforts have been toward supporting local farms and food artisans. We are very concerned about environmental issues. Can't food be both ethical AND fun?On Crafting a culture of change posted 2 years, 6 months ago 26 Responses

Good, Clean, and Fair
That phrase from Carlo Petrini's subtitle sums up the Slow Food philosophy best.On Savor your flavors with the slow-food movement posted 2 years, 6 months ago 4 Responses
